Our purpose
We are an independent charity and the only membership organisation dedicated to taking care of the Alde, Ore and Butley rivers and their surrounding landscapes to preserve and protect their unique beauty, heritage and biodiversity for the local community, visitors and wildlife.
Our activities
- Campaigning for the upkeep of vital sea and river defences
- Supporting conservation of the natural habitat
- Monitoring and reporting man-made and natural threats to the fragile ecosystem
- Promoting responsible enjoyment including sponsoring the Butley Ferry
- Challenging inappropriate developments
- Encouraging a local economy that works with nature
